TRY THIS: Easy Mother's day craft for kids

Hey Friends,

I know its been forever since I last posted... My apologies... I have had loads of activities going on and most times it makes it so difficult to share my thoughts and ideas with you but I am back and better now. I have loads of fun stuff I'd love to share... I hope you find this one interesting and helpful.

Last mother's day, I came up with an interesting craft for our moms using toilet paper rolls.
Its a fun and easy craft. You could do it with your kids in school or at home. Dads can work with the kids to surprise their wives. Our mothers loved it!

Here's what you need:

  • Toilet paper rolls
  • Crepe paper
  • Foam sheets
  • Colored paper
  • Colored sticks
  • Glitters (optional)
  • Perforator
  • Markers or felt pens or gel pens
  • Glue
  • A pair of scissors

 Let's begin!... :)

Place the toilet paper roll on a foam sheet and trace out a circle.

Cut out the circle and stick it to one side of the toilet paper roll.

Cut out crepe paper, enough to go round the toilet paper roll then put some glue on the roll and stick the crepe paper around it. (make sure you stick it neatly and smoothly)

Trace out another circle on the foam sheet and perforate (I think its easier to use a single perforator. I used a double because that's what was available)

Place the perforated foam sheet inside the toilet paper roll so it serves as a base and a holder for the sticks.

Once this is done, place the toilet paper roll aside to dry and start working on the flowers and sticks.

I told you It's pretty easy...

Get a sheet of colored paper and draw an outline of a flower (I'm sorry this picture isn't so clear. The lighting was bad when I took it).

Cut out the outline and glue the stick to the paper flower (I used transparent tape to hold it nicely at the back)

Once you have done this to all your flowers, take the markers and write out nice words that describe each mom. here are some examples; "You rock mom" "Best cook" "Adorable" e.t.c.

Now, insert the flowers into the holes you perforated and your craft is done!

What do you think? Are you going to give it a try?
Kindly leave your comments below.

Thank you.
